Last summer holiday was a boom! In as much as the pandemic restricted the fun, yet we had such an amazing indoor time as a family and the memory lives on. Holidays are family-centred, it is that time to spend quality time with your kids and bond. We have compiled a list of seven things you can do this summer holiday to bond with your children.
Have a family dinner
Eating dinner together as a family is not only fun but also improves family bond. Declare this summer holiday the season of reclaiming the family dinner! Get the kids to set the table, while you cook, and then the whole family eats dinner together.
Get Building
Most full time moms would love this fun idea. With the extra free time you have with the kids this summer holiday, why not engage in some crafts with the kids. You can make paper crafts or paper mache. Get them to paint their creations with their favourite colours. Also, Kids love it when you get down to their level. So, sit on the floor and build Legos together. Take a picture of your creations when you’re done to remember your fun times.
Summer Book Club
Reading stories before bed is a classic year-round family activity. So why not spice things a little, making it more fun by introducing a summer holiday book club with the family. Each parent, brother, and sister can pick two books that everyone has to read on their own time and discuss together at night.
Organize a Family Got Talent
There’s nothing as fun and entertaining as a family talent show especially during the weekend. If you have a popular song in your family, or like a particular song, get the kids to mime it or get everyone to sing along and make videos. Make sure you capture some amazing moments and post on your instagram for other parents to try.
Have a movie marathon
Get everyone to mention a movie each to be watched. Give a seperate day for each. To make the movie more exciting , you can prepare some snacks to go along with it.
Cook or bake together
Decide on a meal or dish you can all work on together. Kids love making and decorating cupcakes or cookies. Cooking or baking as a family is always fun. Kids enjoy participating in things grown-ups do so give them the chance to join in the kitchen this time.
Have a family game night
Playing games as a family can be a fun way to spend time together. It also brings out everyone’s personality, starts unexpected conversations and goofiness. You can play games like monopoly, snake and ladder, ludo, card games, video games, 9ijakids brainiac game and so on.
